BREAKING: Large Air Spill At Wind Farm. No Threats Reported. Some Claim To Enjoy The Breeze. (PICTURE)

First Posted: 7/3/10   Updated: 5/25/11

We stumbled on some gold from Reddit this morning. User "R-Legit" submitted this pic with the headline "BREAKING: Large Air Spill at Wind Farm. No threats reported. Some claim to enjoy the breeze." Well done. Kudos are also in order for user "glowinthedark" for the comment, "Blow baby, blow!"

UPDATE: Turns out the line was tweeted a couple times before making it to Reddit. First by thebenbrooks, then by raine1967.

Hi I am Captain Dino Miles Of the Yet to be built ship Amii, Our crew wants to post a bulletin saying that: "A Red sky at night, is a sailors delight" And the correct way to navigate back to port is a Red buoy to the right (Starboard), and Green Buoy to port (Left)!! BP should heed the common laws of navigating to recieve any compensations for this out rage! It's a mere drop in the bucket to them, but to us, it's all the hard work we spent trying be a part of that Oceania out there.

there are conflicting reports as to the size of the spill, officials are calling it a slight breeze, but scientists studying the video describe it as more akin to a sustained gust. Engineers are scrambling to figure out how many blimps it will take to contain the spill.....meanwhile area residents are bracing for the massive influx of fresh air.....

Haven't you exploiters of wind power done enough to ruin the earth? Why, from the days that wind carried your evil European forefathers to these shores, the blades of your swords, and now the blades of your windmills continue their slaughter.

I can't tell if this is a joke, it's so ludicrous that my tiny, hippy, green energy driven brain has become befuddled.

since we're talking energy wastage here I'd like to to defend the Incandescant light bulb. When I first heard this argument I at first balked at it but over the years I came to appreciate the validity of it.
aA construction engineer once told me that our filament bulbs are most efficient electrical heating device ever invented. over 98% of their output is heat, only about 2% light. Over 80% of incoming current is converted into heat..
Baseboard electric heating is only about 25% effective at converting electricity into useful BTU's The reviled Edison filament bulb is one of the most efficient heaters ever invented.
In the winter I keep interior lights as much as I can. point use a vertical fan to destratify the air and bring the heat down to floor level. Believe me, my bill is lower when I do that than when I don't (note: only talking electrical heating here)
Given that, I gotta ask, why this adament push to outlaw and replace this dandy, cheap heating system with expensive LED devices that don't have this dual function?.
Energy prices are climbing and one of the most energy efficient heating systems is being phased out. It doesn't make sense
Maybe in the South and Southwest it's makes sense to replace them, but in the north, they're very cost-effective.
The only people who will profit from this change are the energy companies and LED manufacturers. We, who pay the bills, will end up paying more.

So, they are breaking wind?

If you want to know the real truth about wind power, how it slaughters birds and bats and the occasional human check the link.

Wind Power: Green and Deadly?

Get real. If you want to talk statistics, then go ahead and mention the fact that the amount of birds, bats and occasional human (which is not nearly as many people that have died for big oil in the mid-east) is only a fraction of the birds and bats killed every year by buildings, cars, planes, cell phone towers, etc. Also, if you did your research and didn'trely soley on that article for your information, which I assume you did not, the deaths of the workers was almost always caused by violating safety codes which are put in place to protect them. Whether or not they choose to follow those guidelines, is completely up to them. As far as the other deaths mentioned in the article: Skydiver hit a wind turbine... usually they check the area they're jumping for things like that. Her fault. Little boy got his tie caught in a rotor? Really? Unless it was a pinwheel in his front yard, I seriously doubt this happened and is complete and utter BS, seeing as how he would have to slimb the turbine, then have a tie long enough to actually wrap around the rotor, and even then, all the safety locks in place that would put the turbine in Emergency Stop mode for even opening a hatch without shutting it down first would have to have failed. And the farmer that killed himself because he opposed wind... good.

Simple solution: put a screen around the fan, just like in your house fan.

Problem solved!

There is no such thing as 100% green energy source. Since caveman times, we had to burn something and generate CO2. If we start looking only at the negatives of energy production, and dismissing each that has an environmental impact, we might just as well give up, become extinct and back to dust.

"We have reports of a massive solar spill spreading across the entire East Coast of North and South America this morning..."

Concerning that huge windspill; It now appears that yesterdays freak storm along the New Disastor coast may have been triggered by poorly understood alterations of the regular daily sea breeze which typicaly aids in the development of usually welcome afternoon and evening thunder showers along and just inland from the coast.Yesterdays storm damaged at least two hundred of the four hundred wind turbines which comprise the heart of '' Hurricane Bay Wind Farm'',which when constructed, was widely touted as a enviromentaly sound and economicaly viable means of producing energy for the Wasteville community and points beyond.Since the completion of the wind farm 12 years ago,the New Disastor area has expereanced an upswing in violent summer thunderstorms simalar to what we saw yesterday. The Wasteville community seems to be the area which has not only been hit the hardest by the storms but also that community has been affected the most often by the freakish weather systems which are not only often extreamly severe, but impossible to forcast.Brian Weatherbad, a local meterologist who has been researching local weather patterns for nearly 25 years, has commented that the storms, though impossible to predict more than twenty four hours in advance, using traditional forcasting methods, may however be forcast several days in advance via the use of new mathmatical formulas which take into account both meterological factors as well as the plannend number of megawatts to be produced by the wind farm.

It's worse than we thought. Today the wind slick reached all the way to Colorado. I'm serious-- it was totally windy today. That makes the damage way bigger than the size of Texas. Also, I heard there was a massive sunshine spill at a solar plant in California, causing multiple reports of nice tans. Where's the lamestream media on that one?

Wind corporations lament billions in lost profits as they continue to lobby congress for control of the very air you breath. Meanwhile, Republican legislators vote to bail them out with an unlimited supply of hot air. Sarah Palin said to pay lip service in support of what others termed "The biggest blow job in history."
