GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado -- The spring runoff season is an exciting time for hydrologists.

"This is our favorite time of year," said Bryon Lawrence, a hydrologist with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in Grand Junction. "Because this is when things start to happen."
