Nick Rogers, an NFL linebacker from 2002-05, died in a car crash Monday morning, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. The newspaper reports that Rogers perished in a single-vehicle accident in the College Park suburb of Atlanta. He was 30 years old.
Rogers was a star defender at Georgia Tech and was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the sixth round of the 2002 NFL Draft. He played with Minnesota during the 2002 and 2003 seasons before splitting 2004 with the Packers and Colts. His last season in the NFL was in 2005, when he played with the Miami Dolphins.
According to the Journal-Constitution, Rogers got married less than a month ago. He had dated his wife for more than ten years.
