With Betty White hosting SNL's "Women Of Comedy" this weekend, we got to thinking about the myriad ladies that have been cast members of the legendary program. While the ratio of men to women on SNL has always been skewed, there have been a select few ladies who broke through the boy's club and brought their own brand of comedy to Studio 8H. Some women are known for their impressions (Tina Fey's Sarah Palin), while others for their eccentric characters (Kristen Wiig's "Judy"), and some even for their ability to play the "straight woman" (Jane Curtin). From the original 1975 "Not Ready For Prime Time Players" to today's cast, here are our picks for the funniest women of "SNL" who have provided some of the show's most memorable characters and sketches.

As head writer of SNL in the early 2000's, Fey did most of her magic behind the scenes and as a Weekend Update correspondent. After leaving for "30 Rock", Fey returned to SNL to do one of the show's funniest impersonations: Sarah Palin. (source)
