Huffington Post Donates Westin Mattress To Family In Need

Early this year, Arianna Huffington embarked on a Sleep Challenge, an effort, despite her busy lifestyle, to sleep a full eight hours each night.

To promote her effort, Westin donated one of their Heavenly Mattresses to Arianna. Though the mattress has plenty of perks (plush goose-down pillows, cozy down blanket and fluffy duvet, anyone?) Arianna thought it best to donate the mattress to someone who really needed it.

HuffPost Impact reached out to A Place Called Home (previously featured here) to find a suitable home for the provider of "plush serenity."

A Place Called Home (APCH) is a nonprofit youth center in South Central L.A. that provides tutoring, mentoring and scholarships to inner-city students. Our campaign last October raised over $8,000 for A Place Called Home through the donations of generous HuffPost readers.

Now, the mattress has a good home with APCH student Yublemy Analco, a 5th grader at Nevin Elementary School, about two miles east of the University of Southern California. Since being with APCH, Yublemy's English skills have improved and she's popular among her peers.
