A distinguished historian with extensive experience as a college administrator has been selected to serve as president of the University of Illinois, officials said Tuesday.
Michael J. Hogan, president of the University of Connecticut since 2007, is expected to be approved later this month by the Board of Trustees as the 18th president of Illinois' largest university.
