Transocean: An Oil Drilling Company Even Sarah Palin Can Hate

Mother Jones:

In a filing submitted to a federal court in Houston this week, [Transocean] has invoked an obscure, 159-year-old law to contend that it should only have to pay for the cost of salvaging the debris of the rig from the ocean.

This is a claim so outrageous that even Sarah Palin is complaining about it.

This OIL spill is a REAL TRAGEDY............let us CONCENTRATE on the SOLUTION rather than blame gain.

In the past 2 years , we have seen how SILLY and IGNORANT many of GOPers supporters are . so that is also what I think of the GOPers .

Some day in the future a whole new industry could be spawned, submersible tankers could dock to well heads directly, transporting oil from even deeper depths, could also be applied to methane gas collection from the sea floor, more than a mile deep.

Serves as a good example of the kind of thinking that predominates in the GOP core, though. All of that "responsibility", "morality", and "family values" stuff that spews from the Republicans - and Big Oil - like the oil from the Deepwater Horizon rig catastrophe is strictly for the public's consumption.

People like those who control Transocean control the GOP, and they are and always will be about the money...nothing - not the planet, not our people, not the nation, not ethics, not morality, not even honor - is to be allowed to slow the rate of flow of the money. Voting Republican is essentially expressing a suicidal impulse.

Can anyone tell me WHY all these foreign oil companies from China (Petrochina) , Sweden,(Transocean), Brazil (Petrobras) , and England (BP) are all drilling in OUR, America's Gulf ocean and hauling the crude overseas, while we continue to have to purchase Saudi oil at $80.00 per barrel, DOES NOT MAKE SENSE! Something smells ROTTEN in Denmark, and in the US Government-Entirely ROTTEN through the CORE!!
