Ahhh Carrie... The posterchild for that persistent notion that a truckload of designer clothing will fill the howling emptiness inside!

Good grief. Just what I wanted to see: Florence of Arabia.

I would be very interested to know what happened to make an intelligent series (SATC, especially in the early years) into a comparatively shallow movie series. Was it purely a business decision to ramp up the fashion and dumb down the plot and dialogue? How much control did/does SJP have over the script?
Mind you, I will most likely go see this anyway, but I sure pine for the early days of this series when it could walk and chew gum at the same time (read: was about more than the clothes on the characters' backs...)

I think that they wanted a younger audience to watch it. I really loved SATC in high school, 2000-4, but as I've gotten older I feel almost less connected to any of the plot lines. You come to realize that this is not at all how real life is being lived. The first two seasons seemed more real, and not as much about designer consumption. Not saying that there is not a place in life for great shoes, but really, their lives are almost unobtainable. Bah...

This movie looks dumb and I'll RedBox it.

The only way these Arabian Nights fashions can pass is if this is a dream sequence. Otherwise, who the hell dresses that way in the desert? Has SATC turned into one big Vogue photo shoot? Distraction. Bring back NY.

I loved the series and SATC1, can't wait to see SATC2, although I'll have to wait until it comes out on DVD. I for one am looking forward to it.

Me too...I'll go see it in theaters with my sister, we saw the last one together and we had fun. I feel the movies lack the same substance as the show had, but I still enjoy them.

Carrie's best accessory would be a paper bag over her head.

Sadly, I must agree.

I agree also, but with pleasure. She is my least favorite of the characters.

Oh no. There's going to be a Sex and the City 2? Please, God, let this not be true.
