By Daniel Frankel, The Wrap

CBS rode the strong season finale of “Survivor” to a Sunday-night ratings victory among both total viewership and adults 18-49.

ABC, meanwhile, finished in second place in the key demographic, buoyed by the strongest performances since early January of both “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” and “Desperate Housewives."

The highlights:

IT IS WE WHO ARE YOUR VILLAINS: The two-hour season finale of “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains” was up 3 percent in total viewers over last year’s final episode, with the show averaging 13.3 million watchers over the 120-minute span. The 4.2 rating/12 share was also the top score of the night among adults 18-49.

THEEERE SHE IS… WHO’S THAT AGAIN? NBC’s Donald Trump-hosted “Miss USA” pageant was beaten badly by ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” with the latter scoring 3.6 million more viewers and trumping the beauty pageant in adults 18-49 by 71 percent. “Extreme Makeover” scored a 1.7/5 in that key demo.

TOON TIME: Fox finished third for the night in the key demo, led by comedies “The Simpsons (2.9/9), “The Cleveland Show” (2.7/8), “Family Guy” (3.8/10) and “American Dad” (2.8/7).
