Eddie Murphy: King Of The Bill Cosby Impression (VIDEO)

First Posted: 05/20/10 10:47 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 05:30 PM ET

Comedians were breaking out impressions left and right last night. Seinfeld and Fallon had their Seinfeld-off and on "The Tonight Show," Eddie Murphy broke out his legendary Bill Cosby impression. While many comics have kept a Cosby in their back pocket over the years, Murphy may have been the first. And he's still the best. (h/t Gotcha Media)

Eddie Murphy's brother Charlie Murphy is funnier than Eddie is. Charlie Murphy was a regular on Dave Chappelle Show and he was funny in tons of skits espically the ones about Rick James...

I actually forgot he did stand-up back in the day! It would be weird to see him do it again.

Is that true or did you hear it on Fox News?

Sorry Eddie, although you're pretty funny, your Bill Cosby impression is lacking. Jimmy Fallon on the other hand does an OUTSTANDING Bill Cosby.

Jeez,,,why beat everyone up...Murphy is a great comedian,,,like elvis he made some movies that he would have been better off not making.....so how is your life...
05:31 AM on 05/21/2010
Wait, Eddie Murphy Was a great comedian. I loved his stand up, and his early movies.
But seriously, I am Not beating anyone up. He(Murphy) completely lost it, got all super ego crazy, and made bad movies that are Not funny. Thats all

See how shiny his suit was? I'm betting he didn't "completely lose it" and I'd be surprised if you even own a suit. lol

I'm sorry you dont approve of Mr Murphy's choices, but the reality is, you just dont matter. :P

"King of the Cosby impression"? Really?
Too bad he's not good at being funny anymore. Talk about a wash out sell out. When was the last time Eddie Murphy was funny? The 1980's perhaps? Once great, now left to bad impressions of other people who aren't funny anymore

Why all the hate?

Hate? What Hate? I don't Hate anything. I was merely speaking the truth. Eddie Murphy isn't funny anymore, Period. Not hate, just the facts. Ask him, I'm sure he'd be the first to admit it.

I love Eddie Murphy!! Bill Cosby use to give him a hard time 20 years ago because of the language he used on stage; it's funny to see him imitate Cosby using that language.

Nope. I don't pretend to be a comedian...either. Cosby was funny in 1968. He stopped being funny a long, long time ago. As did Eddie.
11:09 PM on 05/20/2010
He is a legend. But he needs to stop doing stand up now. We went to see him a few years ago--took the whole extended family and spent lots of bucks and he came down off the stage and tried to do improv humor about people in the front of the audience for the whole show. We couldn't hear what he was saying, he didn't do any famous routines, he acted like he was tired (and maybe he was). What a huge disappointment.

A year or so later, we went to see the Smothers Brothers (whose albums we listened to around the same time we listened to Cosby's "Tonsils" and other routines) and they did not disappoint. Still as funny as ever with the sort of routines that people who go to see them remember from their old albums.

I guess Dave Attell is funny to you. And Louis CK.
05:28 AM on 05/21/2010
Uh, Yes. Louis CK is the funniest stand up on the scene today, Period. Since George Carlin died, Louis CK is the best, funniest, most daring and creative comedian around. Even George Carling said so before he died.
