Hickenlooper Falls Into Tie With Scott McInnis: Public Policy Polling

Hick Slips Into Tie With McInnis In Latest PPP Poll

In the latest survey from Public Policy Polling (PPP), Denver Mayor and Democratic candidate John Hickenlooper slipped into a dead heat with his likely Republican opponent, former congressman Scott McInnis.

The poll, which was conducted from May 14th to 16th and surveyed 1,060 Colorado voters, showed both candidates receiving 44% support. A PPP survey in March showed Hickenlooper leading 51%-39%.

PPP notes a disconnect between Hickenlooper's popularity, which continues to be high, and a willingness to vote for him.

"John Hickenlooper has an unusual level of personal popularity with independents and
Republicans for a Democrat," said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling.

"But it's not translating into a willingness by them to vote for him."
