First Posted: 5/20/10   Updated: 5/25/11

Naomi Watts was joined by Valerie Plame at the Cannes premiere of 'Fair Game,' in which Watts plays the outed CIA agent.

The pair looked spectacular on the red carpet and were joined by Plame's husband Joseph Wilson, actress Liraz Charmi, actor Khaled Nabawy, director Doug Liman and actor Noah Emmerich.

Sean Penn, who plays Wilson, missed the big event.

Wow ! It's a whitewash !

Someone who has seen the movie says," .. (Liman) wastes the talents of two big name stars with his pretentious take on the Plame incident. To gloss over the treasonous criminality of the Bush administration and Republican water carrier Robert Novak in this career-shattering conspiracy is to disappoint 100% of any audience he might have entertained."

To me Liraz Charmi is much MORE beautiful than the two blondes, agents or not...
I'm a woman though...but if a man sees it too than he's a real man in my book.

They really made a movie about those twits?
The most outlandish publicity whores I've ever seen. Grifters of the first degree.

They weren't out for any publicity. The Bush White House outed an undercover agent.
05:51 PM on 05/22/2010
Actually, it was Richard Armitage that outed Plame. Armitage served on the staff of Clinton and Bush.

And funny enough, the movie doesn't even have someone playing Armitage. Which tells you how much the movie is concerned with the truth.

Let's get the story straight. Novak wrote that it was "two senior administration officials" who told him she worked for the CIA. The second was Rove, who broke his security oath when he gave her name. And Libby was busy telling other reporters. There's no dispute about that.

Valerie Plame is one of my angels of geopolitical intrigue. Naomi Watts is looking fine, as is the brunette who is licking her lips. Photographs catch people in strange moments.

Joe Wilson’s piece made incredible and damaging allegations.
Who is Joe Wilson?
After Googling his name, a high-ranking official in Clinton's Security Council, who had become a democratic fund raiser and a vocal opponent of Bush's Iraq policy.
Why was he given this sensitive assignment?
Reporters are trained to find the truth when something is a miss. Judith Miller, Woodward, Novak, they were all over it.
The problem I have with the Wilson’s being victims is that they never had their story straight.
Valerie Wilson told the CIA Inspector General that she suggested her husband for the trip. She told the House committee she did not suggest him. She told the Senate Committee she could not remember if either her or her boss who suggested her husband. She later claimed that "someone" made the recommendation that just "passed by". Wow!

Joe's Times piece was about his report. According to Mr. Wilson, the report discredited any possibility of Iraq trying to acquire uranium. When Senate members had Joe and the actual report in front of them, they could not help from noting that his report, if anything, touts the claim of Iraq trying to acquire Yellow Cake. Wow!

The other problem that I have with this mess is that after 2 and half years and 2.5 million dollars, Special Prosecutor Fitzgerald did charge or suggest that anyone violated the Intelligence Identities Protection Act. He had the information to make this conclusion on day one.

Fact: Plame was undercover. The CIA said so. There was no evidence Iraq was trying to get yellow cake from Niger. Speculation, absolutely no proof by anyone.
05:54 PM on 05/22/2010
In 2008, 500 tons of yellowcake were removed from Iraq.

One might wonder where they got it. Niger remains the likely source.

both ladies look lovely (although Naomi appears to have no breasts).

I just don't see Naomi as Marilyn Monroe. Yes, both women are blonde but that is all they have in common. Naomi is ice cold and Marilyn oozed sex appeal. i don't think she can pull it off.

I'm not a huge MM fan, but I have to agree. In fact, I can't think of one actress who could pull off protraying Marilyn. All of her issues aside, she was one of kind in front of the camera.

They're both beautiful but they don't really look alike at all. There's some actor I can't think of right now who would be perfect to play Valerie, at least you know, face-wise.

But Naomi Watts is great, I'm sure she'll kill the role.

That third picture is just weird. You've got the guy behind Naomi Watts going. "Oh look at me--I'm in a picture with Naomi Watts." Meanwhile, as Liraz Charmi does odd things with her tongue, the guy behind her appreciatively admires her bu tt.

Brush up on your history people.
Dick Cheney did not out Valerie Plame.
Richard Armitage voiced her name to Robert Novak after her husband's bombshell New York Times piece was the talk of the town.
A special prosecutor was assigned and an investigation was launched.
Scooter Libby was convicted due to discrepancies in his testimony of that investigation.
Her husband, Joe Wison - the source of the whole mess, was outed to be a complete fraud as he stood before a 1994 Senate Foreign Intelligence Hearing.
I watched his testimony with my own eyes. He could not validate a a single line of what he put in that article.
I know, hate on me, hate on Bush, hate on yourself Huffposters.
I view history as history, right or wrong, left or right. You view it through a leftist, jaded prism.

Why let facts get in the way of calling conservatives treasonous. This was the biggest much ado about nothing story of the Bush administration. Will be a much ado about nothing movie that nobody sees-hollywood will praise it, Penn will get an award. We'll look back 5 years from now and just wonder what the heck the movie was about in the first place.

I couldnt believe they made a movie about this-of all the things that Bush screwed up-THIS? classic hollywood liberal disconnect.

The is that she was, according the CIA director, an ACTIVE agent. She was working on nuclear proliferation issuesregarding Iran. She worked via a CIA front group. We probably will not know for years the full ramifications of her outing and the effect on other covert agents. You can take whatever issue you want with JOE Wilson's report. You can try to justify treason all you want. You can defend Dick Cheney all you want. The fact remains that Valerie Plame was outed and Dick Cheney's fingerprints are all over it. The fact that an active CIA agent was exposed should be a little bothersome to you, don't ya think?
05:18 PM on 05/22/2010
First of all, no one was convicted, charged or even accused of violating the Intellegence Identities Protection Act.
The only person that went to jail was Judith Miller, for not outing a Bush official during a zealous prosecution.
The Wilson’s did sue several Bush officials, citing damage to her career. Case was thrown out; decision upheld by appellate court, Supreme Court refused to hear any of it.
As for Valerie Plame, she was outed by her husband. Joe Wilson penned an article in the nation's largest paper that made incredible allegations. Allegations that he knew were not consistent with his report. This man went public.
He knew questions would arise beyond the report. How does an out of work Clinton official/fundraiser and staunch Bush critic get sent to investigate such a sensitive mater? He knew his wife's career would be dramatically affected.
He knew this, because she played a big role in him getting sent to Niger to begin with. After an embarrassing moment before the Senate Intelligence Committee, when they expose his article as garbage, he knew there would be seven figure book/movie deals waiting for him.
He knew the Left would buy these products; they do not care about the facts, just Bush hatred that concerns them.
He knew would be like movie stars, walking down the Red Carpet at Cannes. Well, maybe that is a stretch, but his wife would not have to work to support him again.
He had to out her.
