Ipad

LibreDigital takes books and coverts them into the ePub format Apple uses in its iBookstore. It can also convert books for Kindle, NOOK, Sony, and Google.

The e-book market is expanding quickly as Kindles and iPads proliferate.

I have serious reservations about progress. Ebooks is amongst them. The fact that my 12 yr old granddaughter has never been taught to write only to print is also at the top of the list. The printed word and the ability to write has been around for awhile....I don't understand what advantage Ebooks could possibly have over books.

Let's see the numbers. Let's see numbers after the early adapters (who really aren't readers that can be counted on) and the "let's download another freebee" types are filtered out of the mix. As it stands, the statement quoted above is just more of the usual self-promotion we get with any limited fad. Don't buy in. Buy books, good books. Read books, real books. Leave shallow screen pixels for what they do best, pass along infobits and unsupported opinions.

i enjoy my libre pro. i especially like being able to carry around 8gig of books on one small handheld. I am an academic and this gives me ready reference to my materials without having to lug around tons of books.

Ditto. Is this an article, an advertisement, or just a sentence? My guess is that it's the last two, but not the first.

Hire me, HuffPo! I wrote more in this comment than the author of this sentence-as-advertisement did in a full day of work!

How fast will ebooks grow? Very. But it will take a generation until paper books are an electronic footnote.

Battery recharging and recycling should be a growth industry.
