Julia Roberts Tells Oprah About Her Kids (VIDEO)

Julia Roberts sat down with Oprah for an interview airing Monday, and an early clip is online now.

Roberts, soon seen in "Eat, Pray, Love," told Winfrey about her kids, Hazel and Finn, 5, and Henry, almost 3.

"They are really angelic and wondrous and so heavenly and kind and dear," Roberts gushes in the clip, seen below.

She says her favorite thing is to watch them wake up.

What has she learned from them?

"They're so great and sweet and present. That's the thing about being new to the world, is you're just so present and impressed with everything. And the older you get, the grumpier you get... You they're in the car, 'Look at the tree!' Everything is exciting.""

How come when I see Julia talking about her family, after the affair she had with her very married husband, Danny Moder, that I can't feel any happiness for her???? His wife was distraught!! She's no different than Angelina Jolie; Antonio Banderas, Jennifer Lopez and all the other actors who seem to have no morals but want to get on TV and gloat about raising children. They act as if the "new partner and life" erases everything they did. Have mercy.

Great, so she loves her kids, so what ? What has she done to make this world a better place ? Does she volunteer ? Does she donate her money ? Is she doing something positive other than gushing about her kids ?
This is what's wrong with society as a whole, there seems to be no urgency in anyone's demeanor with regards to all the problems in this world. I think that if you're blessed enough to have alot of money then you should do something positive with it, you should give back in some way. Going on Oprah to tell us how angelic her kids are, well, that's not helping anyone...that's called helping yourself.

I don't know what she does with her money, but she seems like the kind of person who behind the scenes does a lot for others. As far as her kids go, of course she brags about them, they're her kids, any loving mother brags about her children. I wouldn't think she was normal if she didn't. They make her happy, good for her, and good for them.

She could have said she loved being a mother--especially since a few years ago she was on Oprah saying she didn't want kids. Bragging about your kids is a turnoff (the tv). But then I don't like her or her movies.

It's just a matter of when before the kids grow up and realize how selfish she is and then start to resent her, and then she'll start to wonder, what she did wrong, and she'll try and be their friend instead of their mother, making a slew of mistakes and all this angelic nonsense will be all peaches because she will realize children grow up and then she will resent not being on her own wooner.

I posted something about this yesterday in this thread, but it looks like it was taken out. I don't know why, there was nothing offensive about it. At any rate, Julia Roberts is a movie star who happens to be a wife and mother. She is very craft and very good at compartmentalizing her various lives, as she should be. The Julia Roberts that shows herself to the public in a staged and scripted way, as in interviews, allows just so much out about her private life. She has a persona to present and she does that well. She is a business and she knows how to promote herself. I don't care if her kids are angelic or sweet. They don't deserve any more or any less than any child deserves. All children deserve love and the admiration (and respect) of their families. Her talking about them in this rather innocuous way is not a bad thing. But for people to think that they are seeing the "real" Julia Roberts when she has a sit-down with an Oprah or a Barbara is silly. I judge her for her work, which I don't always enjoy. If she wants to toss a bone to Oprah and gush about her kids because she is asked a personal question, that is her prerogative. Just don't think she is really opening up. She doesn't have to.

You missed my point entirely. She should have a private life. And she should be allowed to keep whatever she wants to keep private . . . private. She should be allowed to answer personal, prying questions with exactly the amount of information she feels she wants to release and no more. The person she shows in a televised interview is not the private person, and she has the right to keep it that way. I guess my post wasn't clear. Oh well.

I wonder how she will let those perfect children of her's know, that their daddy was a married man, when they hooked up on the set of The Mexican. And how their mother publicly humiliated that other woman and their daddy's wife at that time, by wearing a t-shirt with "A LOW VERA" written on it..how they affair of Danny and Julia caused his mother to have a fatal heart attack..and tried to pay off the wife for a quickie divorce so she could marry her married lover by July 4th??

I supposed they will react the way millions of other children in this country do when they find out their parents are human and did something wrong. They fell in love with each other,he go divorced, it happens everyday in this country over and over again. We have a 50% rate of divorce so I don't think they did something so horrible that all other Americans will be appalled. They did something a lot of other Americans do everyday. I don't know what goes on in other people's marriages, so I don't judge that marriage. The only marriage I concern myself with is mine. Doesn't mean I don't like a good story, but no judgement from me.

Lol, I know! Some parents don't get that not everyone is as enthused by the minutiae of their children's lives. Worse still some folks fawn over their pets the same way. but yet you read this story and commented on it.

I rather have a mother who thinks her children are sweet and angelic and adores them.....then to hear a mother complaining about her kids and telling everyone what brats they are.

If you tell a child he/she is good.....praise them and nurture them they will grow into optimistic adults.
