Frank Serpico Stopped For Carrying Concealed Carrot

New York's most famous cop had a bizarre run-in with the law yesterday.

Frank Serpico was in DC for a whistleblower symposium when he was stopped by Capitol police for carrying a "concealed carrot."

According to Page Six, Serpico told the symposium crowd, "I said, 'Look, I'm licensed to carry firearms. I'm a retired New York City detective. Thank God, some people still use discretion. [They] didn't take my carrot away."

Ironically, earlier in the day Serpico, who helped call attention to NYPD corruption in the 1970s, left an "ominous"-looking lunch bag unattended in Penn Station without attracting the attention of the authorities.
