Don't worry Ms. Jackson. Send Pres. Obama in your place...he isn't doing anything important right now. By the way, this is his forte; speaking in front of crowds and getting them excited about "something."

I have no doubt that Ms Jackson is doing her job, but given the reality that perception too often is everything, it's not a good move for Ms Jackson or the President to attend fundraisers during this disaster.

Personally, I find it difficult to contain my outrage by what is happening; but if we want to cast blame or vent, let's start by looking in the mirror. Each of us is accountable for why this nation continues its addiction to oil.

For anyone seeking facts and information, and are unwilling to be manipulated by the latest headlines, may I suggest visiting the EPA website to discover, not only what the agency and Ms Jackson are doing, but also exactly what the EPA's role is in this disaster. Below is the link and a couple of FAQs from the site.

http://www.epa.gov/

Why isn't EPA the lead for this environmental disaster?
Typically for off shore environmental incidents the U.S. Coast Guard is the lead agency for a response. As this oil slick approaches and reaches the shoreline, EPA has been preparing to ramp up its efforts as necessary to respond to a broad range of environmental impacts.

Does EPA have sufficent financial resources to fund response efforts?
As the responsible party, BP is required (by the 1990 Oil Pollution Act) to fund the cost of the response and cleanup operations. The administration will be aggressive in its response and it will use all of its available resources.

I think if I were President, until the oil spill crisis is over, I would order every Administration employee to man their desks and limit their activities and personal contacts to those line items specifically stated in their job descriptions.

It would be like General Quarters on a battleship. If necessary I would have the U.S. Marine Corps act as Sargent at Arms to enforce the order.

Both Latoya and the President should be down at the Gulf. By Friday, it will be too late and the PR damage will be irreversible.

These are the same republicans who went to fundraisers with the banker before, inbetween and after meeting to discuss financial reform bill. At least she won't be writing any laws.

I hope the EPA Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson did not cancel because of what was said on MSNBC...we need people to support the efforts of the administration and move america on not those like MSNBC whose only interest is rating at the expense of the needs of a nation Mika telling overweight children that they are fat and not expecting a comeback from the child's parent...the media should not run the office of the Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson...focus the nation moving forward toward perfection will require moving and gathering

It just goes to show: the DLC administration and all the associated DLC operatives are in it to generate funding for the DLC. and we all though getting rid of the K-street crowd would be a way to clean up WashDC. Now we see that the Democratic Party needs an enema also.

The bigger question is why allow the dumping of chemicals in our ocean by the millions of gallons? Especially when there is a more environmentally friendly version on the shelves.

I thought Lisa "got it" but it seems she has been "assimilated" into the arrogant Obama Administration.

STOP DUMPING CHEMICALS TO COVER UP THE MESS! I'm no physicist, and even I know that you want to keep the oil in one big clump! GEEZ!

Please don't hung up on this public relations nonsense. We should be concerned about the corrupt relationships that have developed between these agencies and the corporations they are supposed to be regulating in order to protect the public interest.

Ken Salazar should be fired or resign and Obama should apologize to the public for not clearing out that agency when he took office. He can't blame Bush for leaving all of his incompetent employees in place after he left office! You gotta clean out the agencies!

ken should be investigated for ethics as well, then indicted for continuing a k-Street-like operation in MMS.

the drug-filled sex orgies between MMS and advisors was not enough to get anyone fired?

I wish Barack Obama would do the same. I chastised George W. Bush for going to a California fundraiser after leaving McCain's birthday party during Katrina.

The Republicans are going to gain credibility on their "Obama's Katrina" talking points with moves like this.

Sadly, Jackson is out of her league, she's another mouthpiece without any authority. The EPA Corexit is killing the Gulf, and BP continues to use it.

The tro//s have their daily talking points from the big boys and their little "blue book".
These talking points DO NOT include reminding the public who the real culprit is in ALL THIS MESS.
