Gulf Oil Spill

McClatchy:

MIAMI -- Facing more than 100 lawsuits after its Gulf of Mexico oil spill killed 11 workers and threatened four coastal states, oil giant BP is asking the courts to place every pre-trial issue in the hands of a single federal judge in Houston.

That judge, U.S. District Judge Lynn Hughes, has traveled the world giving lectures on ethics for the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, a professional association and research group that works with BP and other oil companies.

Every time I read this headline, I get angrier.

What right do these people have requesting anything other than not to spend the rest of their lives in jail?

The Supreme Court has made the hand-picking of judges possible, with their decision about how corporations have the same rights as people and can therefore contribute as much as they want to buy the elections of the "judges" they want.

What I don't understand is why I see cars at BP gas stations. Stop it, people. Buy your gas somewhere else.

Is Judge Isaac Parker available?
02:28 AM on 05/29/2010
Now seriously, is there any reason for anyone to spend one dime on any BP products ever again? Why would anyone fill their car up at BP? There are plenty of other alternatives. We could bring them down just by everyone agreeing not to buy their gas anymore. Simple. They should cease to to be supported by everyone who considers themselves to be Americans. Period. How hard can it be?

You want what?

Well, I want a cabin on a lake with a boat.

Neither of us have a chance of getting what we want.

NO CHANGE OF VENUE NO HAND PICK JUDGES. THESE LYING CHEATING MURDERERS HAVE BOUGHT THEIR WAY LONG ENOUGH. THEY SHOULD BE CRIMINALLY PROSECUTED AS WELL AND ON THE GULF COAST WHERE THEIR CRIMES ARE BEING COMMITTED.

If BP's "request" is granted, I want to know the names of who did it.

Ahh, that happened in Cheney's secret Energy meetings. Obama hasn't had the time to undo all the crap the last Administration has done, plus you got Republicans trying to kneecap anything Obama does. Its so depressing. I want to see their heads on a pike!
