Denver Broncos rookie Tim Tebow has been promoted to the third string. The Denver Post reports that the first-round-pick practiced with the third team on Thursday at the team's organized team activities.
Tebow, a former Heisman Trophy-winner and national champion, started out on the 4th string when camp opened earlier this month. Many questioned the Broncos' use of a first round pick Tebow due to flaws in former Florida quarterback's throwing mechanics. Mike Klis of the Denver Post notes that Tebow's release still looks long.
Incumbent starter Kyle Orton continued to work with the first team, while newcomer Brady Quinn took snaps with the second team. Second-year man Tom Brandstater, who was on the third team last week, was demoted to the 4th team.
Tebow has impressed the team by staying grounded in despite his unprecedented celebrity for a rookie. Tebow led the NFL in jersey sales for the month of April.
