Before They Were Famous ... They Were INTERNS (PHOTOS)

It's officially intern season -- and to celebrate, we thought we'd take a look back and find some former interns who triumphed in their respective (or, in some cases, non-respective) fields. Because the old adage will never die: Everyone's gotta start somewhere.

Conan O'Brien

The funnyman worked as an intern in the House of Representatives, making copies for Rep. Barney Frank. Why didn't he stay in politics? "I was impatient," O'Brien told James Lipton on an episode of Inside The Actor's Studio. "I didn't want to work my way up."

The internship process is crucial to be successful in life. It is extremely valuable to gain insight on the career before attempting to conquer it as many of these famous people did. my client, Vault has resources to provide the perfect intership and help people start on their career path.

Interning is the way to go. Not for the typical boosting your resume, foot in the door reasons though. I am an intern, and just by working in a company environment, I am able to see if its something I am actually interested in, or is a career that I want to persue. I'm young, I'm indecisive and what better way to spend my summers than practicing for my future? Blog "The Next Great Generation" (http://www.thenextgreatgeneration.com/) is a great place for us indecisive young folk to share and express and figure out our lives.

Darn, I thought they were going to show use their intern photos. That would have been fun.

Interesting where people start off.

Steven Spillberg's was the best I think.

interesting and except for Cheney inspiring list.

However, Brooke Shields may have been an intern, but she was famous when she was a baby and more famous when she was a child. That was hardly her road to success, a different one was chosen for her.

Seems to be some very profound confusion between being and intern and exclusive nepotism.

The article forgot to mention that Eisner married into the Disney family. A tiny omission.

Not sure why this is a photos article since the photos don't have anything to do with the story.

Interns do the real jobs while the wife/girlfriend/partner of the station manager/owner/board member gets the weather gig...or the anchor gig... Surprise...

I remember surviving (you don't live there, you just survive) in D.C. and watching Oprah on the news in Baltimore back in the late 1970's. I remember on one show a psychic told her that she had great things ahead of her. Apparently the psychic was right...

After 30 years of interviewing swamis, self-help gurus, metaphysicians, celebrities, doctors and other "experts"---Oprah remains overweight, even though she would undoubtably like to be thinner. The only advice she needs is-----eat fewer calories each day and walk away from the fattening food.

So what, Theda? Oprah is a media magnate who has helped and inspired countless people in this country and abroad.

She could buy and sell you and everyone you know. Are you saying that she isn't successful because she doesn't look like a straw woman?

What friggin swami are you talking to?

Cheney tries to hide that fact so there's no accusations of nepotism.
