JFK & Marilyn Monroe Photo: ONLY Picture Together Unveiled (VIDEO)

First Posted: 06/01/10 12:44 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 05:40 PM ET

The only known photograph of President John F. Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe will be put on display in a Los Angeles gallery and listed at $23,000. Taken at a Manhattan after party on the night Monroe famously cooed "Happy Birthday," the image is of the pair and the president's brother Robert. At the time, Secret Service had instructions not to allow photographs of Kennedy and Monroe together. This photograph survived only because the negatives were in a dryer when the rest of the film was confiscated.

I just saw a black and white of JFK and Marilyn taken through a cracked doorway last week. She had a fur on her and he was leaning his head on her shoulder. It was very romantic. I think his arm was also around her shoulders. So, someone has an incredibly beautiful photo of them in a very romantic setting out there and it is out on the web.

Anything to make a buck, let them rest in peace already. Lets honor them for the good they did and leave the scandals behind.

Unveiled....how? I've seen this many times, including some reprints in books. Why is this 'news' today? A distraction? The ongoing attempt to sully JFK's legacy? The whole thing is curious.

I didn't really understand JKF's sex addictions until after Jackie died and documents released on the rauchy sex parties the slain president would have by the WH swimming pool. Brother Ed in attendence. Well..one thing for certain the booze was free LOL

In 1990 Charles Johnson retired helicopter pilot for President JFK showed me scrapbooks of black and white photos of JFK and Marilyn on picnics, dancing in the woods, Marilyn coming down the steps of the hellicopter, photos JFK had him take and make scrapbooks for JFK. After the assasination Charles took them home and kept them out of site. Some amazing stuff. Not only of Marilyn but of other white house people at the gatherings as well. Always when Jackie was away. If he's sitll alive he lived on the south side of chicago, was a chef at a commercial cafeteria famous for his onion letuce salads, and attended Myogyoji Nichiren Temple with his Japanese wife and grown children. Who would still have the scrapbooks. Amazing beautiful photos he should have been a photographer.

Monroe had to be sewn into that dress she was wearing. What an iconic moment though.
