Los Angeles Times:

LAPD Chief Charlie Beck, a faithful fan of the purple and yellow, announced Wednesday evening the terms of a wager he's made with his Boston equivalent on the outcome of the NBA championship series.

If the Boston Celtics defeat the Lakers in the best-of-seven series, Beck will travel east to work a patrol shift wearing his LAPD uniform alongside some of Boston's bravest.

If the Lakers prevail, Boston Police Commissioner Edward F. Davis will come to L.A. and suffer the same humiliation.

I hope someone was fair and let Charlie know that, in Boston, "patrol" actually takes place at street level,..rather than in a helicopter.

In fact, it's quite common to see members of the Boston PD outside their patrol cars ....speaking to community members without megaphones.....often without even beating them!

It's telling that the article was careful to mention that the visiting chief would not actually have jurisdiction in the host city. After all, when Gates was chief.....he believed he was still in charge when touring other countries...or even PLANETS!...heh

Go Celts

Ahh, Tommy, a toast:

To friends: as long as we are able
To lift our glasses from the table.

Go Lakers!

Heh......No question your man Kobe's been a MONSTER to date........
The table's all set for him...one game for all the money...showtime

Secretly, part of me's squeezing for him
(Which is considered TREASON here in TrailBlazers country)

Enjoy
