Miyuki Hatoyama Vogue Article Still Slated For August

Although her husband, former Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama resigned, possibly due to his outdated wardrobe, Miyuki Hatoyama is still in Vogue. Really. WWD reports that Anna Wintour still plans to run an article on the now-former first lady.

Vogue is said to have dispatched a group, which included [Annie] Leibovitz and executive fashion editor Phyllis Posnick, to Japan in late April to shoot Miyuki, who, among other things, is notable for claiming she was abducted by aliens 20 years ago.

A Vogue spokesman confirmed that the story is still set to be printed in August's "Age Issue." He explained, "We still plan to use the photos because the issue is about starting over." After all, Miyuki is the Best Jeanist and has a bob to rival Wintour's, both of which merit their own spreads, in our opinion.
