Gaza Egypt

McClatchy:

RAFAH, Egypt -- They arrived at the border by the busload: amputees and people with other disabilities by the dozens, in wheelchairs pushed by family members or friends. Others approached on crutches and canes, and many had patches over their eyes or head bandages and had to be guided by relatives.

How can anyone justify this kind of treatment by Israel? This is absolutely horrifying!

What truly baffles my mind is how a person in America will call a black person a racist name and then every one jumps on that person for it. If there is a place that's not letting in blacks or some one is being racist against blacks, this place will get an earful. Yet, when it comes to the Palestinians and Israel, no one jumps on Israel like we do with the racists here in America. Why is that?

To punish these people for the crime of freely electing Hamas, Olmert imposed an economic blockade of Gaza and the West Bank and withheld the $50 million in monthly tax and customs receipts due the Palestinians.

Then, Israel instructed the United States to terminate all aid to the Palestinian Authority, though Bush himself had called for the elections and for the participation of Hamas. Our Crawford cowboy complied.

The predictable result: Fatah and Hamas fell to fratricidal fighting, and Hamas militants began launching Qassam rockets over the fence from Gaza into Israel.

Israel's response was to abduct half of the Palestinian cabinet and parliament and blow up a $50 million U.S.-insured power plant. That cut off electricity for half a million Palestinians. Their food spoiled, their water could not be purified, and their families sweltered in the summer heat of the Gaza desert.

They shouldn't have taught us to admire democratically elected governments.............
...and to hate and fear "state sponsored terror"...so much.

Even in the U.S. it's hard to sell Israeli snake-oil once the rubes have got on to what it's actually made of.

These will be all the Palestinians who were not suffering because of the Israeli blockade right?

All the ones who according to the Israeli State apologists had sufficient food, medical care and swimming pools?
11:28 AM on 06/04/2010
Yes those are the ones. Since the blockade did not allow unnecessary items like medical supplies, or cement (which can be used to re-build hospitals demolished by innocent Israeli raid), they are not traveling to Egypt for this "medical" luxury.

Who needs infrastructure, food, and health care anyways???

If the world, or individuals are so concerned, it will amp up it's supplies of these necessary items. It will do so through the UN. Of course if any other Arab countries or peoples are interested they can certainly donate to the UN relief effort.

Individuals can also donate through agencies such as the Red Cross? I am sure that if enough people formed an aid group, the Red Cross would be glad to help out. However, you must specifically state that your aid is for the people of Gaza or they will withhold some aid for other disaster areas. There are many that exist. Of course, the corrupt officials of many these countries keep the aid and money for themselves.

Perhaps, people from this very online magazine, could unite and create a charity that sends money to Egypt to help them assist the Gaza people. I am sure this must be a burden to the people of Egypt, and they would appriciate the relief.

Blaming Israel can only go so far.

The Israeli authorities only allow specific amounts of aid in. You can donate from now till Christmas and in any amount you want but that will do nothing other than leave aid to rot in an Israeli storehouse as they only allow a specific amount of it in.

Now would you like to try that one again in light of that and I can of course direct you to the relevant Israeli State sources to prove this.
