LACMA supporters and modern design aficionados gathered at the Schindler Buck house Wednesday night to help Museum Director Michael Govan and Curator and Department Head of Decorative Arts and Design, Wendy Kaplan, add to the museum's permanent collection of California modern design. The objects will be featured in the exhibition, California Design, 1930-1965: "Living in a Modern Way," opening on October 1, 2011. In all, 15 objects were purchased (and $161,600 raised for acquisitions).

Guests included Diane Keaton, Kelly Lynch, Oliver Furth, Julian Sands and his wife, Evgenia Citkowitz, along with members of the museums Directors Circle- including Will Ferrell and his wife, Viveca Paulin-Ferrell, who served as the evening's MC.
