Tony Hayward Bp Claims

NEW ORLEANS — BP PLC has repeated its promise to pay all "legitimate" claims resulting from the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico after a warning from President Barack Obama.

CEO Tony Hayward wrote Saturday on a company Twitter account that the firm has been committed since the start of the oil spill to paying all legitimate financial claims.

Hayward did not explain what prompted his online posting. But on Friday, Obama said during a trip to Louisiana that he didn't want BP "nickel-and-diming people." The president said the federal government would make sure that BP paid the claims.

The company estimated this week that it would spend about $84 million through June to compensate for lost wages and profits caused by the oil spill.

What about the cost of destroying public goods? It will take years, probably even decades, to restore the ecosystems that are currently being destroyed. This and every other oil and chemical company pollutes our water, air and soil. So who's paying for that? We are, as the life dependent on these ecosystems.

That's rich! An illegitimate company deciding what claims against it are legitimate! The bar is set pretty low here..

If someone dumped oil on his head, and his cars, and his homes, I am not saying that I would condone it, but may understand it due to their anger. I hope peace prevails

Define "legitimate" claims.
And, when will they do this?

hey Tony: you coulda had better equipment to prevent this. The citizens of the USA are not planning on letting the Gulf of Mexico and our shoreline and habitats be ruined because of you.
It's a disgrace that you call yourself Dr. Hayward-educated atThe University of Edinburgh:why didn't you spend the money that was needed on the preventive equipment? Did you ever take cost/benefit analysis? Guess you snoozed thru your classes Tony. You are failing fast.

Bush/Cheney PR people and law makers are working with BP and in the end, they will stiff the people and the clean up, and the Government will pay for everything. You still have the Republicans blocking the bill to increase liability from 75 million to 10 billion, and no word of this by the media. None, zippo, nada, zero!!

I have a theory that Tony Blair and Tony Hayward are the same person. After Blair left office he was still power-hungry so he became "Tony Hayward." They both have that smarmy, naughty school-boy look!

Lawful, legal, legitimate, licit mean being in accordance with law.Hmm,so would it be legitimate to make the claim that these conficters will only be paying to claimants with lawyers able to prove the legitimacy of their claims? It appears to me that if you are affected by this spill you may wish to get going on a class action suit and bully your way to the front of the line or start looking for a good bankruptcy attorney.

I cannot enter the language required to describe this man and his cronies - it would be way to ugly, filthy and disgusting; and still not come close to adequately describing BP.
