Katherine Heigl Explains How To Stop The Oil Spill (VIDEO)

First Posted: 06/07/10 03:51 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 05:40 PM ET

It's no wonder Katherine Heigl didn't want to talk about her performance in 'The Killers' at the movie's premiere last week, but she did herself no favors when CNN asked her to weigh in on the Gulf oil spill.

Here's what Heigl had to offer:

"This is really, really, bad," she said. "I think someone needs to get in there and do what we can to right away to stop it. There's lots of, you know, lots of animal life and sea life that are being killed by this."

Another quality headline by HP! Keep up the good work. The only thing that would've made it better would have been the token word in all caps, more like "Watch: Katherine Heigle SLAMS oil spill"

She didn't explain how to stop the oil spill. I think the oil spill has poisoned the editors of this web site with headlines that don't match the piece at all.

ask a non-expert about a question, and you criticise her for not giving an expert answer...
basically she said...
1. it's really bad
2. we should act quickly
3. a lot of wildlife is dying because of this
i think she would have given a much better answer if you asked her, if the oil spill was made into a movie, what kind of role, and mood she would want (drama, comedy, action)

Might as well have asked her to divide by zero.

How about we redirect the spill to shut Heigl's big, stupid mouth?
09:52 PM on 06/08/2010
yes where is heigl's top kill
05:05 PM on 06/08/2010
Lol. Well, what in the hell do you expect her to say? Why in the hell is she being asked this question? Is she a closet engineer? I never understand why everyone tells celebrities to keep their stupid opinions to themselves while at the same time asking for their opinion on everything under the sun. Wtf.

Exactly. Why are the reporters not shoving the microphone in Obama's face??

Katherine Heigl had a more mature and intelligent response off-the-cuff than Obama has had pre-rehearsed and written for him.

The only constructive thing (yeah, right) Obama said is he's looking for "ass to kick".

Some President! We should be so proud.

I have more respect for actors who have more compassion and have contributed more time and money to the environment, human rights and animals than the White House and Congress and all politicians combined (and that's our tax money).

Agreed. No reason to villify Ms. Heigl over this, but far be it frm the Huffpo entertanment eds to miss a chance to snark on one fo their targets.

Wow. This chick has such "foot in mouth" disease.
Its like, Oh thank you Katherine! If you hadn't told us someone should be doing something to fix this oil spill we would never have thought to do anything about it!! God, what would we do without you always telling us what you think whether we want to know or not, whether it makes you look like even more of an idiot or not?!?!
Well actually, we would probably go on living our lives.

They asked her a question, she answered. What do you want from her, blueprints for a superior deep sea submarine? She's not my favorite actor, but I'd rather watch her than listen to a frustrated cranky person like you.

She didn't say she had a solution. She just commented.

Misleading headline sets her up to look dumb--/ Tisk..tisk....thats bad journalism HuffPost

stick to making cr@ppy movies Heigl. You really nailed that profession down.
02:08 PM on 06/08/2010
That sounded more like a pre-game "pep talk" than a solution. But she is so cute I had to watch.
01:04 PM on 06/08/2010
So where was her "idea"?

Sure, Ms. Heigl. Everyone is just waiting for the NBA Finals to end before we get started. It's the Lakers vs. Celtics for chrissakes!

While she's right about what we have to do, I fail to see where she offered an idea of how to do it. Could it be that the headline is misleading?

I love HuffPo, but they do that ALL THE TIME.

they do it ALL THE TIME.

This is a entertainment website with the occasional legit piece. Too bad they sully their reputation with this kind of junk.
