Karenna Gore Schiff Separation: Gore Daughter SPLITS From Husband

WASHINGTON — Another Gore marriage is on the ropes. The eldest daughter of Al and Tipper Gore, Karenna, has been separated from her husband, Andrew Schiff, for a couple months. Two friends of the family who spoke on condition of anonymity say the couple is seeking counseling.

The former vice president and Tipper Gore announced just last week that they were separating amicably after 40 years of marriage.

The sources spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized by the Gores to discuss a personal matter. Al Gore's office said it would have no comment.

Karenna is 36. Andrew is 44. They married in 1997 and have three young children.

Marriage (like governing) is a process, not an excuse to stir emotions in readers and listeners. Fear mongering has now invaded vowed relationships, by fanning our delicate fears about divorce. Its true: no matter how cynical I get, I can't keep up.

The whole business model between men and women is flawed. They dress up all pretty and make themselves imminently "touchable" , we play the requisite "vagina says" game, the relationship is consumated, and they suck us dry for the rest of our lives so that even a whiff of happiness flees like the wind from our parched lips. All for a little squirt. Today I'm gonna dress up in my tighest short and pants, spray on my stinkiest cologne, put on my most ostentatiuos jewelry and go galivanting downtown until I find me one of these so I can give my companionship to. These days few people know the value of honoring all commitments.
