It was not that her husband, Michael Waring, a fashion photographer, objected to wearing sandals that purportedly improve one's foot health and skeletal alignment. He just didn't want to be caught with his feet encased in a cork-soled advertisement for a wheat-germ-and-Volvo lifestyle.

I love my Birks. I have 3 pair-a couple of piar of clogs, and a pair of Boston's, the closed in heel suitable for work. but I will never, ever wear sandals. It's just not manly.

Ghastly, but somewhat better than men needing pedicures wearing flip flops. It's a new low as far as I'm concerned. Grungy is not a good look no matter HOW COMFY.
