Fareed Zakaria Criticizes Media Attention On Obama Oil Spill Emotion (VIDEO)

CNN's Fareed Zakaria broke his relative silence over the BP oil spill this week and took aim at the media for its fixation on "presidential emotion."

Zakaria argued that those eager to focus on President Obama's emotions miss the opportunity to discuss reforms and actions that could have a real impact on the situation in the Gulf of Mexico. He called it "a terrible example of how the media can trivialize political discussion."

The "GPS" host regards the oil spill as a tragedy for which, in the short-term future, the federal government can do very little.

Zakaria rattled off a list of threatening events around the world before sarcastically declaring "thank goodness the president is now talking about kicking some ass."
