Alvin Greene, South Carolina Senate Candidate, Challenged By Government Watchdog Group

(AP) - A government watchdog group is preparing a Federal Election Commission complaint against the surprise winner in the South Carolina Democratic primary for U.S. Senate.

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington confirmed Sunday that it wants an FEC review of Alvin Greene.

CREW executive director Melanie Sloan expects to file a complaint Tuesday.

Greene did not file FEC reports tied to his bid for Senate.

State Democratic Party leaders were stunned Tuesday when the unemployed military veteran who did little campaigning handily won the race.

That shock changed to anger when officials learned the 32-year-old Greene faces a criminal charge in which he is accused of showing a 19-year-old college coed Internet porn.
