The Boston Globe reports that NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley said he wants to return to the NBA as a general manager, as long as he has full control over the team.
Barkley, a TNT analyst for the last 10 years, made the comments before Sunday night's game between the Lakers and Celtics.
"I got a great situation here but I'm ready to be a GM," Barkley said. "It's just time for that, but like I said, it's going to have to be under my own terms and I am going to have to have complete control."
As for players who can't play but still make a lot of money, Barkley said they are why he doesn't want to coach. "They got guys making money who can't play. A lot of money. That's the only thing that bugs me."
Barkley also expressed that he is happy working with TNT and NBA TV, but the duties of a GM have pushed him to this point.
