Along English Avenue, in one of the poorest neighborhoods in Atlanta, a group of kids are spending the summer working on neighborhood improvement projects.
The summer project is organized by Friends of English Avenue, a partnership between a local reverend and a businessman, intended to help kids break the cycle of poverty and learn to take responsibility for their neighborhood. For the young people involved in the project, the opportunity is both a summer job and a way to make a difference for the place they call home.
