Vuvuzela Time Brings World Cup Buzz To Any Page On The Web

Vuvuzela

What's the latest buzz about the FIFA World Cup? It's more of a buzzing sound, and it's coming from thousands of soccer enthusiasts blowing on their vuvuzelas.

These plastic stadium horns are wildly popular in South Africa and are used to motivate the soccer team. It's a similar phenomenon to team chants or songs. While a single vuvuzela sounds like an "elephant trumpeting," several hundred vuvuzelas sound like a swarm of angry bees.

This deafening drone has become the unofficial soundtrack to the 2010 World Cup. Since FIFA decided not to ban the horns, they have also become the center of a worldwide controversy.

For those who can stand the sound, there's a site called Vuvuzela Time that brings the noise of a World Cup match right to your web browser. Not only can you search Google to the tune of South Africa's most famous sound, but you can also open your favorite pages and check your email as if you had brought your laptop to a World Cup match. Just type in "http://www.vuvuzela-time.co.uk/" followed by the URL of the website you'd like to vuvuzela-ize into your browser.

For example: http://www.vuvuzela-time.co.uk/www.huffingtonpost.com will give you HuffPost on vuvuzelas.

The vuvuzela is being utilized by the CIA to test mind control on a massive scale. The messages being transmitted are subliminal and coded deep within the ubiquitous drone. I was watching Brazil v. North Korea when I discovered the key to unlocking the code. First: turn up the volume on your TV until the the hairs on the back of your arm stand up. Next: close your eyes to block out any exterior distractions and focus your complete attention on the buzzing cacophony until all other noise is excluded (including the commentators). Tap your foot to a slow but steady 4 count and gradually speed up. If done correctly the secret instructions will form an identifiable prosodic contour - in this case four simple syllables. The test message being broadcast throughout every match in the tournament (thus far) is: watch/ more/ base/ ball.

I believe that the government is exploiting this opportunity to test the vuvuzela as a possible masking agent in concert with more advanced mind control technology. Proof of the experiment's efficacy may lie in the fact that after 10 minutes I experienced an irresistible compulsion to switch channels and watch baseball - interleague baseball!

NEXT: Is FIFA the unwitting dupe of the CIA/MLB/ESPN triad and how much does Obama know?

Yes sir, going to set that as my home page and do all my browsing through vuvuzela time. Might even find a vuvuzela ringtone. How 'bout a CD of Vuvuzela's For Lovers - light a candle, turn on the vuvuzelas and cuddle up with your sweetie.

I prefer them to the air horn whatchamacallits any day. Those things are really annoying. These are more musical I think.
