What brands do you visit the most online? The answers may surprise you.

Nielsen has released a study of the world's internet usage in April 2010.

According to their research, users now spend a full 22% of their time online (or one in every four-and-a-half minutes) on social networking sites like Facebook, YouTube, and Wikipedia. Nielsen also reports that in April 2010, "for the first time ever, social network or blog sites are visited by three quarters of global consumers who go online, after the numbers of people visiting these sites increased by 24% over last year."

Nielsen also tracked the top ten most popular brands online for the month of April 2010, measured in terms of the percent of the world's internet population visiting the brand and the average person's time spent on that brand's sites. Though Facebook did not make the top spot, visitors spent an average of 6 hours on the site in the past year. This is far and away the longest amount of time that users spent with an online brand.

See what brands made the top 10--and how long people spent on that online property--in the slideshow below.

What is this, the accurate replacement list? A few weeks ago a list was posted without some of the obvious top sites and the comments were ridiculing it. Supposedly Google didn't include their properties or something. But I see the slutts at HP are still using the "Bing" image for the article image. Time to use Google or Facebook for the image eh? Get your souls back and don't use your MicroshlT sponsor"s Bing image.

I'd *like* to be surprised, but I'm not. A couple of these are, after all, the Walmarts of the web, and will forever draw general visitation.

(When I say HP do I mean HewlettPackard or HuffingtonPost?)

AOL is bigger than Twitter? That's surprising...

Apple is a terrible company with terrible business practices that charges exorbitant prices for subpar performance. They are what Microsoft was 10 years ago, a behemoth bent on extracting greater profits, even at the cost of user innovation and customer experience. Their proliferation is as much to do with fashion, hype, and media clamoring as it is to do with any real service they have provided. Virtually every device they make can be found from another manufacturer, for cheaper, with better customer support, and superior performance - yet most people don't even know this.

I'm not going to waste time finding a source (google it yourself) but Apple has the best rated support of all the computer related companies. Has for a number of years. Why are you so out to lunch on things? The company is actually a very successful company, who knows their customers (keep it simple stupid and if you have to lock it down and screen everything through iTunes so be it). You my not like that but Jobs does not care what you think, he cares what people who buy an iPad want. People will pay a premium for the best, and Apple has lead the way on a lot of things, it's others who do the following. What planet are you from?

I don't think the numbers on Facebook are accurate in regards to the number of hours the average person spends on the site. Many people forget to log out of Facebook and walk away from the computer for a long period of time. This would seriously inflate the hours.
