Update 6/20: The Daily Mail UK reports that the police are treating Nicon's death as a suicide and "investigating suggestions he had suffered from a 'complicated affair of love.'" A police source in Milan said, "We have spoken to the friends he was staying with and they have told us that he had recently broken up with his girlfriend and was depressed.''
Italy's La Repubblica also talked to Nicon's friends and designer Donatella Versace, who was with Nicon just before his death. A rough translation:
This is how Tom's friends described it to the police: "In his final days, he became more sad," they said. "Tom was a sweet, sensible boy." Friday morning, he was busy trying on clothes for Versace. He had to change for four outfits. "He was very normal," Dontatella Versace said. "Only in the morning was he closed off in a strange silence. I wonder if this was a sign that, as a woman and mother, I could have caught?"
Nicon's agency d' management group has posted a tribute to him.
Update 6/19: Reuters has confirmed Nicon's death, writing, "A shadow was cast over the shows by the death of a catwalk model, 22-year-old Frenchman Tom Nicon, whose body was found in the courtyard of a building in central Milan Friday. Police said they were investigating."
Model Tom Nicon was reportedly found dead in Milan (early reports had it as Paris), just one day before Milan Men's Fashion Week begins. According to fashion blog Isaac Likes:
22 year old French model Tom Nicon was found dead in Milan this morning after he fell from his apartment window. According to the friend, "He did the Versace fitting this morning. After that he was supposed to go to his agency but he never arrived. I don't know if it was suicide or if he fell." His agency declined to comment.
Nicon worked and walked for many top fashion houses, such as Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Versace and Hugo Boss. Here are photos and a video from his life:
