Colorado Springs Medical Marijuana Tax Collections Taking Off

Colorado Springs Gazette:

Sales of medical marijuana and marijuana-laced products in Colorado Springs -- which topped $1.6 million in April alone -- are generating tens of thousands of dollars in revenue for the city.

From January 2009 through April, Colorado Springs has seen a tenfold increase in monthly sales tax revenue from medical marijuana, from $4,000 to $40,000.

9News here in Colorado.

Denver cleared 1 Million in Taxes from Medical Marijuana from Jan 1 Through April 30.

While that makes up less than 1% of Denver's total budget, it is enough to help keep our kids in school 5 days a week.

Add that to the Thousands of Colorado citizens working in the Medical Marijuana industry now off the unemployment rolls, the hundreds of retail outlets paying rent, the thousands of small venders selling their products in these retail outlets and Colorado stands to profit greatly from Medical Marijuana. All without a drop of blood on their hands.

Hundreds of thousands of registered MMJ users in the state
a Thousand dispensaries in the state
Tens of Thousands of Colorado citizens working
Millions in state coffers, from taxes, fees and other legal shakedowns.

I thought JOBS was the # 1 issue on the hearts and minds of the American People. Marijuana is providing jobs all over the state, without increased crime. Thanks Marijuana!
