Landon Donovan GOAL VIDEO: USA Scores To Win In Stoppage Time

The United States advanced in the World Cup on Wednesday with a critical goal in stoppage time. With just minutes remaining in the game, Landon Donovan knocked in a goal to put the United States up for good. Scroll down to watch.

The victory ended Slovenia's World Cup trip, and the United States will face Ghana on Saturday at 2:30 PM ET. The winner of that game advances to the tournament's quarterfinals.

The goal was the second late-game score for the United States in as many games. Facing defeat against Slovenia last Friday, Michael Bradley kicked in a crucial equalizer in the game's 81st minute.

I had to come back and watch this again to remind myself that no matter what happens tomorrow, this historic achievemen­t can never be taken away from the U.S. and their wonderful soccer team. Absolutely amazing moment! Still almost brings me to tears.

Que WOW!!!

I was watching as much of the World Cup as I could on the SuperSport channel out of South Africa, but I was working during this game and missed it. I wouldn't have watched it anyway because I would have had sequential heart attacks watching a game that matters. I did see most of the first game against England and was pleasantly surprised at how well they did. The comment of the Scottish commentato­r on South African TV about how the Brits played was. "Pathetic!­" I got a real chuckle from that.

There's something about this team that I think if they do really well this year it would help out people back in the U.S a lot, everything about the USA has seen dismal, I think they could lift the spirits back home for sure! I don't really watch soccer but when a team has that makeup it is easily identifiab­le.

The final ATTACK by the US team on the goal strike was a thing of pure beauty. It was as if they were collective­ly saying, we are not going to be denied here. They just kept coming.

Rugby is a sport that I should like, but I don't. I don't understand why its fans are so crazy about it, and I don't care to. Maybe if I had played it, I'd have a better appreciati­on for it. Thoughout the 70's, I played soccer, baseball, basketball­, and American football - the latter of which I could have played for a small college. I chose to play soccer at Michigan (before it was in NCAA) because I loved everything about the sport. I follow MLB, NBA and NFL because I know their histories and what it takes to play these sports, but nothing compares to soccer. I don't tell my rugby fan friends that I don't appreciate their sport because it would show them that I'm lazy and ignorant. Which is exactly what anti-socce­r people are telling the world. Good game, US. Beautiful goal, Donovan!

After the goal, they showed the replay and the American co-comment­ator started to break it down...the­n silence...­and the English lead commentato­r took over, to avoid dead air.

It's the most exciting hearing it in spanish channels (KMEX). Except when they play against Mexico. Then you can clearly hear the bias against USA.
