Joe Biden

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A senior Obama administration official tells The Associated Press that Vice President Joe Biden will travel to the Gulf Coast on Tuesday to review the efforts to combat the massive oil spill.

Biden is expected to visit the National Incident Command Center in New Orleans and the Florida Panhandle.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the trip had not yet been announced.

The White House is eager to show an hands-on sense of command over a disaster that has rocked the Gulf Coast and reshaped Obama's presidency.

Obama has gone to the Gulf Coast four times since the crisis began on April 20.

Watch Biden will try to eat the oil thinking it is custard.

Vice-President Biden should have been on the Gulf Coast from day one of the oil gusher. As Vice-President, he has much more free time available than the President does. He could have served as a direct pipeline to Obama concerning the situation in the Gulf.

Is this the same Biden that called an ice cream store owner a smartass after the guy asked him to lower taxes? The Left must be so proud to have someone like this telling a small business owner that...Biden should fade away into his la la land with the rest of the Left...this is what you get when you have a career politician that is so out of touch with reality combined with an inexperienced person who hasn't run any business...this administration is horrible and yet the Left think that more spending will get you out of debt...why don't you try that with your own finances and see how far that gets you...but then again, Obama will bail you out at our expense for your lack of responsibility.

Where is the green job sign up page here? I see everything but that so I must be overlooking it somehow.

Not a good political idea. Someone will slightly complain about the situation and Biden will verbally ream the person.

I can just imagine how rudely he'll react to the good citizens of Lousiana. Especially if someone askd him a question. He's repugnant.

perhaps when Joe gets down there he will be able to explain the lack of skimmers. Two weeks ago there were 32 skimmers operating and last week there were only 20.

According to Adm Allen, there are 2000 skimmers in the US alone.

Obama has been on top of this since day one? Perhaps Joey Biden will be able to explain why there are not hundreds of skimmers in the gulf working to collect oil.

all I can come up with so far is gross incompetence from the top down.

I wonder if Vice President "Bite-Me" will tell the people of the Gulf coast to stop being "smarta$$es"?

More and more it seems all these politicians-officials are hard-hearted and cold-hearted and their actions don't match their rhetoric.

The white house wants to SHOW a hands on control of the situation. Show. A perfect word for government involvement in this growing disaster. Show. Ah, if only it were possible to TALK the leak shut, Joe would be the perfect person to send down there, and what a Show that would be. Show em what you got Joe. Show the American people what is not being done. Show us how much oil is really in that Gulf. Show us how much time is left before the Gulf is completely dead. Show us why you allow an oil owned lackey judge to overturn your moratorium. Show us how those little gum drop size oil dots Obama touched are now the size of extra large pizzas. On with the Show.

I'm still not clear how a system not in equilibrium becomes dead when it has such a small percentage of pollution.

What you are suggesting is nationalizing the oil industry. This is what happens with no or little regulation which is advocated by the gop and completed by gw...the gift that keeps giving!!!

I hope they do, 20 billions is a drop in the bucket. Wen need to seize their assets to make sure this gets paid for but I'm afraid that with BP picking the judges to hear the cases, I'm not hopeful.

His response will be "wow ,look at that! Thats a lot of oil! And its amazing how many black birds are floating around the water."
