Charles Leadbeater On Education Innovation In The Slums (VIDEO)

Education Innovation in the Slums

"You have to engage people before you start to teach them," says British author Charles Leadbeater.

The video below is a 20-minute speech discussing how innovation in education can significantly improve the viability of educational opportunities, particularly in developing countries. This innovation is partially through the practical use of computers as learning tools, which has shown to be extremely beneficial in keeping children interested in going to school.

Leadbeater also points out that the learning process should not be treated so much as an academic and analytical activity but rather "something that's productive, something you make, something that you can do and perhaps earn a living from."
