Vanessa Paradis & Carla Bruni: Mrs. Depp Feels Mrs. Sarkozy's Pain

Add one to team Carla! French First Lady Carla Bruni has a new sympathizer: model and long-time Johnny Depp girlfriend Vanessa Paradis. Paradis told the Observer, "Can you imagine, later meeting a man and falling quite in love, and he's the president?"

She continued:

"And if you're performing, singing, you can't quite let go, [you can't] start dancing like you want, in case the strap on your dress slips. And a country falls. It would be a curse, falling in love with a man who is president, and yet you fall in love, and so there is nothing you can do about it! What a dilemma!"

Paradis remarked that Carla has to do official duties while also staying true to herself. She added, "I feel sorry for her--for falling in love with the president. What a thing to happen! Oh, I don't mean sorry for the love, but for him having that job."

We've come to realize that Carla and Vanessa actually have a lot in common--modeling, singing, acting, famous husbands--and think they would make great friends. Perhaps a Paradis-Depp visit to the Elysee is in order? We can only imagine what Johnny and Nicolas would talk about.
