World Cup Hotel Staffers Convicted Of Souvenir Thefts

The cleaning staff of a South African luxury hotel stole World Cup souvenirs, including soccer shirts, a medal and, um, an English player's underwear from hotel guests, according to USA Today.

Only $750 was stolen from an unidentified hotel near the Royal Bafoken Sports Complex in Rustenberg, but the souvenirs are worth more, presumably. The thefts were reported on Saturday and by Sunday, a special World Cup court (who knew?) convicted five hotel workers to three years in prison and an $800 fine.
