Lady Gaga Goes To MIT, Poses For Polaroids

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Lady Gaga is lending star power to Polaroid and the MIT Museum.

The pop star known for her outlandish wardrobe posed Wednesday for a Polaroid at the museum run by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In January, she was given the title of creative director for the company that owns the iconic photography brand.

The museum had recently taken possession of thousands of Polaroid inventions that revolutionized photography in the 20th century, including the 20- by 24-inch camera that was used to snap the photo of Lady Gaga wearing a low-cut black lace dress. Lady Gaga has concerts in Boston on Thursday and Friday nights.

Polaroid was founded in Cambridge in 1937. It was sold in bankruptcy last year and is owned by Minnetonka, Minn.-based PLR IP Holdings.

Whether or not Lady Gaga is a “Poseur” or however folks are spelling that fake a$$ word or not doesn’t take away from the incredible work she is doing to preserve an AMERICAN commodity. Poloroid film is indispensable in fashion and I applaud her for stepping up to the plate to take on the responsibility to ensure the production of a truly american product. Who gives a rat’s butt what she is wearing from day to day? Lady Gaga is here to stay so we just need to try to understand where she is coming from and support her in her efforts to make a real difference.

Lady GaGa has a lot to offer, she is talented, however, she is a shock jock. It works for her and sells her brand. I just hate that she has to sell sleeze to be profitable. Too bad she could not have just used her raw talents to be profitable.

She has no more talent than the bottom 5 percent at Julliard. And those folks are talented. So that's why she needs to shock. There's little else of any substance. She does however have some great producers, costume and video people.
