ESPN's Ultimate Franchise Standings: How Do Colorado Teams Stack Up?

ESPN The Magazine has published the latest edition of its annual Ultimate Standings, a detailed list that assesses each MLB, NBA, NFL, and NHL franchise on the extent to which they repay their fans for their loyalty. The ranking system is based off of eight categories of importance to fans, including "bang for the buck", fan relations, ownership, affordability, stadium experience, players, coaching, and title track (a measure of the team's past success and prospects for the future). The rankings are a result of fan feedback and statistical analysis. For example, "bang for the buck" entails the calculation of the teams' wins over the past three years per the revenues from the fans.

The New Orleans Saints--the 2010 Super Bowl champion--was ranked as the best franchise of the year. Other teams that did exceptionally well were the Orlando Magic, the Los Angeles Angels, and the Indianapolis Colts. The teams that were ranked as the worst included the Los Angeles Clippers, the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Washington Wizards.
