PARIS - You wouldn't think of John Galliano as having a green thumb, but the Christian Dior designer delivered an immaculately tended flower garden of riotous colors at the luxury label's fall-winter 2011 haute couture show on Monday.

Full ballerina skirts in baby pink tulle shook like wind-rustled roses, and a rainbow of applique petals in featherlight chiffon enveloped the nip-waisted Bar jackets.

Check out the looks from the show and scroll down to keep reading!

Galliano also fielded cocktail dresses in cream and navy Delft porcelain print, with upside down tulip shaped skirts in Ceylon blue. Sheath dresses in mohair and boucle were a like a field of wildflowers in bloom. The ballgowns were massive concoctions of petal-shaped tulle, chiffon and droopy lengths of silk -- one hand-painted with an oversized peony.

The models -- their eyes and lips blooming with rich jewel tones -- wore cones of colored cellophane, like a bouquet wrapping, on their undulating upswept hairdos.

"I loved it, I want to be every flower in Galliano's garden," actress Jessica Alba told The Associated Press in a backstage interview. Other A-list guests at Monday's show -- held in a tent in the garden of the Rodin Museum -- included "Gossip Girl" Blake Lively and Jared Leto.

During the show, Lively, known for her budding interest in fashion, drew little sketches of each passing outfit on her collection notes.

Monday's garden was yet another sumptuous collection for Galliano, who season after season manages to deliver inspired reinterpretations of founder Christian Dior's historic collections.

Very few of the dresses were beautiful and wearable, most of them are totally waste of fabric and work, its just plain ugly.

Not sure if these designs are altogether NEW, but as a collection they have a subtle cohesiveness that few designers pull off, and I don't just mean the poppy bud wrapped in cellophane hair.

Even if you weren't thrilled, I think you could at least appreciate his ability to take different weights, textures, shapes and a wild palette and make a stunning spring statement.

I personally want the yellow coat/dress. Beautiful!

Stunning! High fashion that is wearable. I especially love the green dress with the purple heels.

Wow. Absolutely brilliant. They really do look like flowers. One can almost see in the mind's eye Galliano studying flowers between thumb and index finger.

That black and yellow billious gown (#9?) and some of the others are remindful of the sumptious 18th century french court dresses. This is really art worn on a woman's back. Most of them are really incredibly beautiful, and such color!

I love Galliano. His designs always bring to mind living art. Plus, these designs are so fun and frolicky. I love the: purples, pinks, white, and baby blues (all my favorite colors). These styles simply command attention.
Kudos!
