Don't make me watch attractive soccer players hugging and piling on top of each other. It makes my tummy feel kind of tingly..

Maicon's kick was fantastic, but it's a bit harsh to label the GK as "hapless". While it was a fairly feeble lean toward the ball, likely as not he was more on guard for a pass than a goal shot by the time the ball got all the way to the line, with a Brazilian coming up toward goal from the middle. It was a perfect place for that kind of pass, but Maicon took the more difficult shot, which most wouldn't have expected in that moment.

That Maicon goal was best of the tourney hands down ....he threads in an area less than 2 ball widths. The Netherlands Vanbrockworth's was 2nd. Saw a few people note the Japanese 2nd goal n Denmark was pretty good, as well as the Forlan goal against Germany both omitted and should easily have been in top 10. David Villa goal against Honduraswas good and possibly best individual goal.

I was glad to see the Americans show they have some talent, but I will wish they could have had a defense like Paraguay we could have made it to the semifinals

But the one thing I am disappointed about is that Suarez is about to be snapped up by Man United or Chelsea when is the MLS going to get their act together and start bidding on players like Suarez, they want Henri and Beckeham to generate interest in the USA - go figure. If the USA wins the bid to host, they had better get players like Suarez playing in the MLS to generate interest and passion for the game
Who makes these decisions - Henri and Beckeham instead of Suarez or Drogba

Watch any of Germanys, North Koreas, Ghanas, USAs, or Uruguays games those were the best ones in terms of entertainment.

The games ended for me with Uruguay versus Germany

You're right. The Final was probably the worst WC game I've ever seen. Neither team was worthy of winning. Holland fouled too hard, Spain fouled almost as hard. Spain dived shamelessly, Holland dived almost as shamelessly.

There have been forty cards in WC finals games over the years. Fourteen of them were in this game. And there were two red cards not called: the Dutch boot to the chest and Puyol dragging down Robben on the second breakaway.

Thoroughly schoolyard. Spain is proud of their win, but they should be ashamed of themselves.

Germany and Uruguay played a much better game, Germany showing its depth and utter class by refusing to lie there dead as seven of their players were scratched for the game, six with a devastating flu that kept them bedridden and Klose injured, unable to eclipse Ronaldo as he rightly should (a far more complete striker than Mr. OnlyRightFoot).

I was hugely proud of Die Mannschaft.

Diego Forlan of Uruguay had a great goal against Germany in the third-place game.

Uruguay was the best team of the worldcup for me, no wonder everybody is voting for them on the FIFA website. Forlan was like a Greek God, if Hermes ever came to life and decided to play soccer, then he would look like Diego Forlan - fast, fleet footed, excellent placement of goals, and doing it all without even breaking a sweat.

Then there was soccer's resident h e ll's angel -Luis Suarez, spectacular passing skills and sense of team play and passion.

Just watching them play made me fall in love with soccer all over again

I didn't know they scored more than 14 in the entire tournament. Yawn!

Oh, and I forgot to mention, I think Tshabalala's first goal of the Cup belongs in this list.

I'd like to see a compilation of the best assists of the World Cup. Some of the contenders would have to include Fabregas' perfect pass to Iniesta, Neuer's goalkeeper assist to Klose, and almost any one of Xavi's sublime passes, as well as his corner that found Puyol's head.

Wheres Forlans down-up kick from the 3rd place game?? I'd say that was one of the more skillful goals of the whole tournament.

Best, most valuable player of the tournament, hands down; an award much deserved!
And he's as fine a person as he is a player!
