Robber Thwarted By Equipment Malfunction

A man's plans to rob a Colorado Springs business were foiled Monday by a cash register that malfunctioned.

A clerk at Family Dollar, 3069 S. Academy Blvd., was approached about 1 p.m. Monday by a man who pulled up his shirt and revealed what looked like a handgun tucked in his jeans.
