Cookbooks You Didn't Know Existed

First Posted: 07/11/10 03:48 PM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 06:00 PM ET

A few weeks ago, the Rebecca Marx at the Village Voice's Fork In The Road food blog made a dazzling find: the existence of one, The Unofficial Twilight Cookbook: Love At First Bite. So we set out to find more cookbooks that most people probably wouldn't now existed.

We'll be updating the slideshow below with more surprising cookbooks as we find them. If you have a tip, click the "Add A Slide" button below to add your most surprising cookbook find, or leave a comment below the post.

The Village Voice blog made a dazzling find: an unauthorized Twilight cookbook written by a Gina Meyers, which cashes in on bloodsucker-mania. Now you, too, can cook and eat like a vampire. Sort of.

The cover of the butch cook book has a cameo part in an upcoming movie called The Perfect Family with Kathleen Turner and Emily Deschanel. Don't miss it.

The Testicle Cookbook would be a good present for my ex-mother-in-law.

"First, turn 1 Cup of water in to wine and add to the chicken stock, simmer..."

How about a True Blood cookbook instead? "Blood bisque"? Analogous to the show v. movie, it should be more entertaining!

I doubt the food out of a 'garlic free' cookbook would be too tasty. (g)

And doesn't Sookie work in a place that makes and servs food. Or at least in the first season. I haven't watched the rest because my boyfriend's sister-in-law is on it and he doesn't like to watch her fake makin' it with dudes.

I got another one, The Two Billion Dollar Cookbook, circa 1989, put together to benefit Beans Cafe in Anchorage, which served the homeless, by the wives of Exxon spill responders after the Exxon Valdez spill.

For those of you freaking over the balls cookbook, take my word for it; they actually make good eating, done right. Typically, they feature in garde manger type offerings, as pates and so forth, but I know at least one chef who deep fried them like a McNugget to feed to a bunch of whiny culinary students.

Axis of Evil Cookbook sounds quite good. I love Middle Eastern, Korean, and Cuban food.

The Axis of Evil was Iraq, Iran and North Korea.

LMPE, you are not old enough to remember the other axis powers(from, as Archie Bunker put it, "WWII...the big one"), Germany, Japan, and Italy. Oddly enough, for many years, restaurants representing the cuisine from all three of those countries have dotted the U.S. landscape...one of the only benefits--besides automobiles, high-end electronics gear, and cute little motor scooters--left over from that conflict.

Who needs an un-constipated cookbook? Go to Taco Bell!

A bowl of high-fiber cereal every morning should be enough...and then, if it doesn't work, go to Taco Bell.
