2010 ESPY Awards At The Staples Center

Sports royalty (with a few actors and models sprinkled in) convened at LA Live near the Staples Center last night to attend the 2010 ESPY Awards. Familiar faces from the Winter Olympics and the recent World Cup graced the red carpet and the awards podium, but the big winners last night were the New Orleans Saints NFL team. Saints quarterback Drew Brees won Best Male Athlete of the year, and the entire team won for Best 2010 Team.

Los Angeles was recognized for the Lakers NBA championship. Coach Phil Jackson won Best Coach/Manager and Kobe Bryant won Best NBA Player.

As expected, LeBron James was the target of many zingers at the awards. Host Seth Myers encouraged the Cleveland Cavaliers by quipping, "Literally every team that has ever won an NBA championship has done it without LeBron James." Comedians Paul Rudd and Steve Carell also parodied James' hour-long special.

Actors Andy Samberg and Will Ferrell provided more comedic relief; Samberg dressed up as Paul the Octopus of World Cup fame, and Ferrell did a bit as the inventor of the vuvuzela.
