Tea Party Federation Expels Mark Williams Over 'Offensive' Response To NAACP's Racism Charge

First Posted: 07/18/10 02:48 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 06:05 PM ET

The National Tea Party Federation has expelled conservative commentator and Tea Party Express spokesman Mark Williams over a fictional letter Williams wrote on his blog last week from "Colored People" to Abraham Lincoln.

"We, in the last 24 hours, have expelled Tea Party Express and Mark Williams from the National Tea Party Federation because of the letter that he wrote," federation spokesman David Webb said Sunday on CBS's "Face The Nation."

Williams wrote the blog post, which has since been taken down, in response to a resolution adopted by the NAACP accusing Tea Party leaders of tolerating racism within the movement.

"Dear Mr. Lincoln," began Williams' letter. "We Coloreds have taken a vote and decided that we don't cotton to that whole emancipation thing. Freedom means having to work for real, think for ourselves, and take consequences along with the rewards. That is just far too much to ask of us Colored People and we demand that it stop!"

Webb called the blog post "clearly offensive."

Well no one can deny that racism still exists in America. A black president does not provide the guarantee to overcome this problem - it just provides hope.

So offensive. Well, good for the Tea Party for finally taking a stand against the racist hogwash within their party.

Except when it involves subprime mortgages, and SUV's.

Also add McDonald's and 50" plus waistline to this list of exclusions from responsibility.

Do you buy lunch or dinner out, while you are working? If you are lucky, you might find a relatively healthy lunch for 7-10 bucks.

McDonald's has a current special- three triple cheeseburgers for $3.00. I think you can do the math, both on poverty, and "50 plus waistlines".

We live in a society of obese children, who are also malnourished, simply because food dollars go further buying cr@p.

After all, we are white people and we are entitled to whatever we want on this earth. He is black and entitled to nothing . . . not life, not liberty, not the pursuit of happiness. God bless white American, and nobody else. Wow!, with that attitude, "upon your death come judgement day",
I doubt after having "bashed a Group of a Race of that is of God's creation, not yours, and his
image has no favortism of one race over another", for he decided what he wanted and in what
way, not you........Mr God Bless America", (Ramasess Mocked God and brought death to his own

I read the blog/letter Mark William's sent and it is perhaps the most racist thing I have ever come accross. His pathetic attempt to pass this off as satirical is insane.

How he possibly attempted to excuse that letter as "satire", reminds me of the musicians who performed in blackface in the earlier part of the 20th century. Both memes need to stay in the twentieth century, and should not be tolerated in the 21st.

Consider this; it probably does not matter to most African Americans if someone chooses to be a racist. The problem, I would imagine, with racism arises when that person feels that he or she most act upon their feelings of hatred or intolerance with concrete actions that are designed “hurt” or prevent… In other words, hate all you want, Mr. Williams, but leave African Americans, for example, to their struggles and I am certain that they will leave you to yours! So the question becomes for people like Mr. Williams is it possible for you all to hate and be intolerant without acting upon/expressing your feelings in a manner designed to ”hurt” or prevent…?

What I will never forget is the White Power stormfront terrorists linking into HuffPo and Yahoo threads on the NAACP story to defend Tea Party against charges of racism with the nastiest racism I've ever read.

Mark Williams has given me a new perspective on the ta party movement.
Apparently the movement is like a bunch of block clubs, and everybody in it, is not just out for their own block but for their own house, regardless of how many other families suffer.
This is truly "Social Darwinism's survival of the fittest"...except the "fittest" keep their social security, tax breaks, and medicare while the "inferiors" wallow in the knowledge that they were born too late, too dark, too uneducated, too indebt, or too foreign to qualify.

Firing this one man won't replace the hundreds of signs that have been displayed for America to see. It's time to OWN IT Teabaggers. If your racist so what, you've been left behind anyway.

Hundreds of signs? Please post some pictures of these "hundreds of signs." Can you find a few who are hefted by nutjobs or Progressive plants? Maybe. But hundreds? Nope! And for that matter why hasn't anyone claimed the $100,000 dollar reward offered by Rush Limbaugh for proof of anyone calling James Clyburn names or spitting on him? There were plenty of cameras around.

those people that were allowed around the congressmen that day were picked to be there, it was not open to the public, I don't think they will come forward and tell on themselves, I did see footage of the spitting. I am sure that can be seen by all who look for it. I have seen plenty of the signs of Obama as Hitler, the Joker, etc. etc.- do you see any news beyond Fox???

The Tea Party Federation kicked Mark Williams out. Well according to Mark Williams he doesnt even know who the Federation is or cares what they did. So to sum up, Mark Williams will continue to spew his filth and the tea bagers will do nothing about it which is why I cant stand the tea baggers
08:31 PM on 07/19/2010
And most Tea Party members don't know who Mark Williams is so I guess they're even. He and his comments have been totally repudiated if you'd cared to watch the news at all today. What more do you want?

Funny because when Mark Williams was defending the Tea Bagger claim that they are not racist in response to what Jealous said all you tea baggers were all kinds of loving to Williams and defending him. My how the tides turn when his true colors and hypocrisy shows. Keep thinking all that rightousness if you want to. Most real Americans know exactly what the tea baggers stand for, which would be hatred, bigotry and racism.

Being uninformed is not something to be proud of when you claim to be part of a political movement whose primary purpose is to get people involved.

So they got rid of one guy....and a very extreme guy, I might add, but we also saw plenty of people who carried signs at rallies that demonstrated that they, too, were racists. Why doesn't the Tea Party denounce them? Are we supposed to fall all over them because they got rid of this one guy? That's it? And what about that event where they spit upon a congressman and hurled racial epithets at another one? I guess we're supposed to forget that, too. I have heard over and over again that the Tea Party is not violent, as if that were the only criterion to judge a party by. That's like saying an abusive husband hasn't murdered his wife.....yet.

Because the TP is unsure if these ''signs'' originated with the TP to begin with. BREITBARTS exposure of the racist USDA official who was summarily canned or resigned this morning as the result of video obtained by the conservative BIG GOVERNMENT, also went after ''Crash The Tea Party'', a liberal group which manufactures racist signs and exhorts their foot soldiers to appear with these at TP rallies or protests, be photographed, and then uplink to left winged or liberal websites. [such as THINK PROGRESS, which was just busted for engaging in such fraud itself].
