Will Newspapers Go Extinct By 2050? (POLL)

According to a recent poll from Pew Research Center, a whopping 64% of Americans believe that print editions of newspapers will be nonexistent by 2050.

The poll question — which focused mainly on the role of paper in the near future and less on the status of new media — was asked in conjunction with other questions about American's predictions of a "paperless future."

In response to other poll questions, 63% of participants said they thought electronic transactions would completely replace paper money within the next 40 years, and 61% voted that "almost no one will send personal letters in the mail."

Pew reported that the college-educated demographic was "especially likely" to predict the swift downfall of print media.
